Terrace Kitchen is a relaxed all-day eatery with an open plan kitchen serving up
a modern, innovative menu. The décor is light and fresh; a series of intimate spaces seamlessly linked together. Expect light-filled rooms, natural timbers, white marble, green leafy plants and a monochromatic colour palette spiked with subtle hues of pink.
Inspired by the legendary hospitality shown to visitors who journeyed to see the Pink and White Terraces in the 1800’s, Terrace Kitchen pays homage further, with a diverse melting pot of international staff and a shared plates dinner menu – guests can even dine under the stars whilst warming their toes on the thermally heated concrete terrace overlooking the lawn.
The hub of this special place is its open plan kitchen and at the heart, of course, it’s all about the food. Smoked, baked, roasted, fried or just picked from the onsite garden – it’s all made with love on the premises by an international team of culinary professionals.

BLUE BATHS: Terrace Kitchen is the sister property to Rotorua’s iconic Blue Baths in Government Gardens. When this Art Deco/Spanish Mission styled bathhouse officially opened in 1933, it offered ‘the hitherto unknown pleasures of mixed-sex bathing’ for the first time in New Zealand; earning a place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike – and in later years – Category 1 status with NZ Historic Places Trust.
These days at ‘The Blueys” the geothermally heated pools are once again open 10 am – 6pm daily, and the building has regained its title as social hub of the city, playing host to a myriad of events throughout the year - from corporate events to school balls, weddings and wakes to seasons of original shows and theatre.
REGULAR GIGS: Look out for the Blueys monthly Comedy Club nights, headlining a showcase of NZ’s top stand-up comics. A calendar of theatre, touring musicians and live shows ensures there is always something exciting coming up at the beautiful Blue Baths!

Executive chef Timo Dicker has over 20 years of diverse culinary experience which has evolved into a cooking style he enjoys. For Timo finesse is key and he creates clear, simple, high-quality menus utilising the best of New Zealand’s produce. Determination, passion, and the support of a dynamic team drive him to continually hone his craft and create unique takes on established dishes and flavours. When not in the kitchen, Timo enjoys travel, photography, and getting out and about on his mountain bike.
